CityBuilders is a community movement dedicated to shaping the early lives of children through education, mentorship, and structured learning environments.
We believe that when you invest in a child early enough, you don't just change that child's life — you change the trajectory of an entire community.
Our pilot project — the CityBuilders Foundation Montessori School — is where that belief is being put into practice, one child at a time.
The Opportunity Gap Is Real
The Niger Delta produces the oil that powers Africa's largest economy. Yet in many of the same communities where this wealth is extracted, children grow up without access to structured learning environments.
Many begin life without early literacy, structured guidance, or mentorship. Without early intervention, they grow into adolescence without the foundational tools that allow them to explore their potential.

Our pilot school is built on a simple premise: the earliest years of a child's life determine how they approach learning for the rest of their lives. Curiosity can be nurtured — or lost. Confidence built — or broken. We choose to nurture.
Foundational Literacy
Every child at the school learns to read and write from the ground up — unlocking all other learning.
Structured Montessori Learning
Our classrooms follow Montessori principles — hands-on, child-led, and built around natural curiosity.
Character Formation
Beyond academics, we cultivate responsibility, confidence, and perseverance in every student.
Mentorship
Consistent adult role models guide children toward futures they can be proud of.
Many of the students who initially joined without the ability to read or write can now do so confidently. Their progress has become a source of pride for their families and communities.
Relief Solves Today. We Change Tomorrow.
CityBuilders began as a simple effort to help families through charity—providing food, clothing, and basic support. While these efforts helped temporarily, one thing became clear:
"Relief solves today, but it rarely changes tomorrow."
That realization led to a different strategy: invest in the children. Instead of focusing only on short-term aid, CityBuilders began building environments where children could develop academically and personally from an early age.
